In order to reduce or avoid lace bite, it may be necessary at times to have the boot tongues reinforced, relined, or replaced altogether. If you are one of those skaters whose tongues continually seem to break down prematurely, have the tongues factory re-inforced next time new boots are ordered. There is an additional charge, and prices vary for each manufacturer.
In addition to reinforcing the tongues, it is sometimes necessary to add an extra reinforcing stitch line across the toe area to keep the tongue from dropping down on top of the toes.
Note: Not all tongues can be repaired without having to replace them entirely.
